Easy Tips to Clean Metals At Home

A lot of things we have at home are made of metal. Metals are everywhere, from the kitchen to the garden and everything in between – metal has a very real presence in our lives and you cannot deny their role in your life and neither can you ignore metallic objects because metals are prone to being damaged by rust. There are steps that will help you prevent rusting, but no matter how much you try there is only so much you can do to prevent eventuality. Here are some tips that will help you with removing rust.

Vinegar for Cleaning Copper
Copper utensils take on a greenish tinge after using it for months. This is rather easy to clean. Just place your copper utensil in the sink and pour a generous amount of white vinegar and then scrub a little salt on the surface. You may need to repeat the process more than once to get the new penny shine, but it will come with a little work.

Removing Calcium Build Up in Metals
Calcium rings that form on metal surfaces have been an age old problem. Water contains calcium and when it drains down it leaves behind a clear mark in the form of rings. Thankfully it is very easy to clean. Take a few wedges of used lemon, hold it flesh first to the metal surface and scrub it a few times. By the time you are done, the rings will be gone and the utensil will smell very fresh as well.

Putting shine back in silver
When you don’t use silver for many months it tends to become dull and dirty. You can put the shine back in silver very easily. Take a little toothpaste, any type works but the traditional muddy type toothpaste works best. Just polish your silver with it and you will have silver dishes and utensils that shine impressively.

For metal stuff that just doesn’t want to leave their dull selves behind, take them to a professional cleaner. Application of chemicals like Aldimine works great on most type of metallic surfaces.

Zero VOC Surface Coating with Polyurethane Dispersions

The environmentally conscious agencies all around the globe took notice of the effects it had on our fragile eco system caused by VOC laced coating materials and thanks to legislative changes that have been brought about today there are very few nations on earth that still use VOC coating contents.

Waterborne Polyurethane Dispersions (PUDs) are coatings and adhesives that use water as the primary solvent, and unlike other products that release hazardous air pollutants, these are completely safe and are therefore considered better for all practical applications. Notable also is the fact that in terms of cover and effectiveness as a coating agent there is nothing lacking in it. Polyurethane Dispersions do not contain isocyanate residues and therefore doesn’t release VOC in the air. Another factor that makes PUDs so popular is that it is available in varying degrees of hardness and can be blended into low cost dispersion solutions.

The primary application of waterborne epoxy is in the pharmaceutical and personal hygiene industry. This is where the need for clean surfaces and nice smooth places is a necessity. When waterborne products were not common, VOC laced coating products were used everywhere; also some used tiles as an alternative but it was soon found that the cracks and gaps in the floors were becoming home for germs and pathogens. The only way to ensure to make the surface clean without any compromise to health and hygiene was to use Polyurethane Dispersions.

How to Get Your Floor All Nice and Shiny

The monsoons are upon us and there are many things you need to prepare for the rainy day and one of those is getting your floor all shined up and ready for the moisture-onslaught of monsoons and we will help you do just that if you stay with us just a little longer.

Understanding what keep floors shiny

Wooden floors are hard to shine especially so when its monsoons an even the shiniest surface needs a few additional scrubs and polishes to get a sheen going. And wooden surfaces are just that - wooden, and that means a little more effort. Old wooden surfaces are shiny. Oil and hard rubbing is the only way to add a shine non-destructively. Of course there are costly chemicals but there aren’t any guarantees that there will not be any long term damage to the floor. Now if you have that figured out the next thing is open up your wallet and buy a few nice products for what follows.

Investing in the right products

There are primarily two options to choose from. The water based ones better for faster drying and less odour whereas oil based products will get you some additional glitter, but of course you will have to compromise on price and time taken to dry off. Besides those small differences there isn’t anything else to differentiate and you can easily choose one from among them. You can either do the job yourself or if you think Aldimine is too risky for you to handle then get someone with the necessary skills to handle aldimine.

Waterborne polyurethane – their application areas and more

Polyurethane Dispersions (PUDs) are used in:
  • Coatings for flexible films
  • Coatings for rigid plastic
  • High performance coatings

The modern day evolved waterborne polyurethane provide to the user industries a lot better choice than solvent based polymers, especially when there is still a lot of regulatory pressure to eliminate the usage of products that contain solvents like pyrrolidone.

If you need waterborne polyurethane or custom chemistry to take on your competition and enhance your performance and productivity, then you should get the products from a chemical major that understands the significance of custom chemistry. Leverage the capabilities of search engines like Google and Bing to find out the companies that offer custom chemistry or high quality range of waterborne polyurethane. Check with a few of them to figure out which chemical company would best fit your unique needs.

A few chemical companies have adopted innovative approach in their chemical making and have come up with some brilliant products. Whether you’d need waterborne polyurethane dispersions, oxazolidines, Aldimines, waterborne epoxy curing agents, you’d find it all with a chemical company that has been in market for long and believes in custom chemistry.

3 Most Popular Applications of Waterborne Polyurethane

All around the world, on an ever increasing number solvent based product are being phased out in favour of water based products. Environmental concern one, too many eye brows were raised about its effects on humans who came in contact with the chemicals during application. What the industry has come up with is several times better than what have been in use all these years and the new alternative is remarkably better in many aspects. Without getting too deep into that, we will show you instances of confident adoption of this new solution.

Hygiene coats

Let’s begin with application of Waterborne Polyurethane in hotels, restaurants and healthcare institutions. Cleaning is easy and rapid and takes less time to be done.  One thing that is common in all of these places is the need to keep surfaces perfectly clean and hygienic. A simple water based application dries up quickly, leaves no odour behind and reduces chance of being contaminated by bacteria, which you can imagine is quite crucial in every hospital, restaurant and nursing home.

Anti-Radiation coats
The summer is upon us and with the tropical sun beating down relentlessly, the need for anti-radiation Waterborne Polyurethane has become ever more necessary. A coat on the exterior walls and roofs not only keep the interiors cool, but also lowers energy expense. These coatings can be made waterproof as well to prevent water from seeping into walls.

Floor coatings
If the floor is dusty or if the floor in a supply room, warehouse, restaurant, shopping area and requires to be made resistant to pedestrian traffic, or if the look and aesthetics of a floor has to be improved upon, a single-component Waterborne Epoxy floor coating system should be suitable. These coatings, in addition to being water-based have low VOC and practically no odour.
