Incozol 2 – An effective Moisture Scavenger

Incozol 2 from Incorez is an oxazolidine that is supposed for use as an effective moisture scavenger in urethane coatings and sealants. It can also be employed to eradicate residual moisture from solvents, polyols and prepolymers and further from plasticizers and pigments.
Incozol 2 has a low toxicity rating and hydrolyses on exposure to moisture, yielding reactive hydroxyl and amine groups.
There are numerous advantages of this moisture scavenger that include:
• It eradicates CO2 bubbles and pinholes in two-component systems.
• It reduces down glossing and hazing under high humidity application conditions.
• It also improves gloss, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance.
• Prevents gassing and gelling in one-component moisture cure systems.
• Completely reacts into urethane polymer matrix.
• Outstanding handling properties.
Incozol 2 is perfect for use in one- or two-component systems. It is not usually recommended in one-component paints or sealants with a low NCO content as the residual amino alcohol reacts with the isocyanate during storage, during the reactivity of the entire system and resulting into retarded drying times.

Multiple applications of Polyurethane Dispersion

Otto Bayer is a world-renowned scientist for its ultimate discovery of polyurethane dispersion. In its previous days, people were doubtful of his new ideas of combining different chemical substances and obtaining dry foam materials. However, the discovery of polyurethane dispersion by Bayer has changed the people’s viewpoint towards him. He was the person who discovered the basic process of diisocyanate polyaddition. Today’s chemical industry must deliver tribute to him for his amazing chemical inventions.

There are numerous applications of polyurethane dispersion. Do you know all types of foams are made from polyurethane? Flexible foam is used in upholstery; rigid foams are placed inside the walls of refrigerators and freezers. Flexible and semi-flexible foams are also used in manufacturing car seats, head rests and arm rests.

The reason why polyurethane dispersion is of immense use in today’s industry is that it is the most suitable and safest replacement for solvent based coatings because they are known for their environment friendly property. Another benefit is that they come in a great range of hardness and solid content. Their zero to low volatile organic content enables their formulation into a compliant coating for many different substrates. Polyurethane dispersions are fully reacted polyureas of small and discrete polymer particles ranging from 0.01-5.0 microns in a continuous water phase.

Polyurethane benefitting from the green trend

The market of polyurethane stands chance to benefit from the green trend, as new and modern materials and technologies are being used.

The green trend suggests the development of waterborne polyurethane coatings. Several sustainable raw materials, alternative raw materials strategies and securing the emission profiles are in consideration. The primary reason being the present environmental legislation particularly REACH and VOC regulations.

As per some industry experts, this trend will pave the way for the removal of some particular catalysts and certain additives used for the PUR coatings. On the other hand the polyurethane market will stand chance to benefit from the green trend, since new and modern sustainable materials are being used.

In the research and development field, the sustainability, amine free technologies, environment friendly isoianates, waterborne polyurethanes are some of the topics that are being discussed at several coating events and conferences.

The waterborne PUR coatings and the low impact technologies are becoming very important. Several waterborne systems are being developed and the distance between the waterborne and solvent borne systems have narrowed over the years.

In terms of the drying time, the waterborne still lags behind and it is a main challenge that needs to overcome. The gap that is present between the waterborne and solvent borne has become short over the years. Such products needs to be developed that can match up to the high standards of the solvents.

Oxazolidines makes waves in the solvent borne industrial coatings market

The technological advancements that are taking place all over the world are not a new story for any one of us. In such a scenario, can the industrial coatings market be far behind? With the strict VOC regulations, there is a viable water based alternative that is used for solvent borne technology.

Incozol has been developed by the coatings industry as oxazolidines, as it is developed as a co-reactant in the polyurethane coatings to get low VOC. It maintains a low viscosity by restricting the intermolecular hydrogen bonding.

There are several benefits of reactive diluent. Like, it has good polypol and solvent compatibility and it also poses as low intrinsic viscosity and has high equivalent weight. It is of low color and used for clear lacquer finishing.

There are no adverse effects on the coating properties which includes film hardness development and resistance, gloss, and weathering properties.

The applications of this product include VOC paints and varnishes, high build paints, and elastomers.

Beautiful Mixture with Epoxy Curing Agent

Beautiful mixture of the chemicals and the pigments when is mixed together makes your home look grand. It creates a calm, cool and soothing beautiful smooth finish with delicate colour variations. It is supplied in the form of powder requiring mixing on site to yield a smooth flowing coating that sets rock hard and is not touched and affected by rain water and UV light.

This epoxy agent is the great type of coating that helps to set the rock hard and is UV resistant, cost-effective and extremely hard-wearing. It is supplied in powder the form demanding only the addition of polyurethane dispersion before being applied with a large block brush. It is easily operated on the surface creating one of a kind surface to ensure uniqueness to each of the surface. It gives the material a great finish letting the new appealing element shine that respective section.

It is found to be used mostly in the sections below:
• Concrete Primers and Sealers
• Wall Coatings
• High Build Self-Levelling Floor Coatings
• Industrial & Decorative Concrete Floor Coatings
• Epoxy Modified Cements

This when is used gives the area a perfect shine. So, decorate your home or your loved section with them and relish the fun of true living.

Polyurethane – How to get the perfect results?

There could be many applications both industrial as well as personal where polyurethane is largely used as a sealant. For example, last month I took up the task of redoing my old floor. After replacing the old oak timber floor boards, I stuck around the issue of sealing. Then one of my friends suggested me with polyurethane which is now considered as an environment-friendly alternative to conventional sealants.

Earlier there was a misconception that polyurethane tends to leave significant health hazards irrespective of the shine and finish it brings to the surface. But today people know how they can bring down these hazards down by taking few precautions.

If you’re using solvent-based polyurethane, you need to adhere to the following basic precautions:
1. Vacate the premises for at least 14 days.
2. Empty pantries and refrigerators. Solvent fumes taint foodstuffs-even packaged products.
3. Remove pets from premises.
4. Remove all indoor plants.
5. Remove all oil and water based paintings.

The decision to get back to the premises, including pets and plants, is entirely up to the owner. Solvent based finishes generally take 14 days to a month to fully cure. . In addition, you can keep the moisture scavenger away by joining the pieces together tightly.

Emulsifiers to Decorate and Prevent Your Home

Everyone loves to decorate their home as well as their office to their best. But only few of them become successful in getting what they have desired. They are lucky and you too can be lucky. You just need to follow your dream. If you want to decorate your own home then this time, make it shine with some different types of material.

Materials such as polyurethane dispersion are both waterborne and fully reacted. Thus, they can be framed and communicated into low VOC coatings with low toxicity ratings.

Based upon the application, the formulation of the film takes place by evaporation of water to yield tough, resilient films. The dispersion can be used alone or even they can be used in the combination with several other polymer lattices, e.g. acrylic emulsions.

Similarly, to keep one’s home moisture free; you can make use of the moisture scavenger too. They come with several benefits and features to shine your home. Features and Benefits that they are acquainted with are:

• Low toxicity, mono-oxazolidine moisture scavenger and drying agent
• Fast reacting - hydrolyses on exposure to moisture
• They have low colour and low viscosity
• Fully reacts into urethane polymer matrix
• Deliberates tolerance to repeated opening of containers
• Eliminates CO2 bubbles and pinholes in two-component systems

It comes with many more features too that not only shines your home but lasts for many years
